Descriptive text: Shows cartoonish images of a dragon and a mermaid, both looking at each other saying, I believe in you

Housekeeping: I don't think I'm going to be able to launch early. I'd mentioned it in several emails to contacts as Backerkit and wasn't told no, but it looks like the final plan is for this to be a group effort. So...TOMORROW! And if you're following, your secret links will still be secret tomorrow.

That done... we hit 100 followers which was a milestone!

So, you all wanted an interview...

UPDATE: There is a glitch. I'm not sure what the deal is and I can't ask until Backerkit support opens on Monday. However, the secret links will still be there. I'll post an update when I know more.

I'm excited to share with you an early, secret launch for my upcoming Backerkit project, The Pretern Wars.

This exclusive omnibus will include: A Prime’s Passion, A Dragon’s Desireand a brand-new story,A Killer’s Claiming.

This edition won’t be sold in stores and you’ll find:

When you back the project, you have a chance at numerous fun options and upgrades.

The handmade rewards will include resin bookmarks, made by the Hooligan and their friend, Dino—this is a family enterprise!

This book will be available in

This is going to be a beautiful book, but it won’t be available in stores.

Backerkit is big on collaborative projects, too. I’ve teamed up with J.S. Living who has a fun urban fantasy x historical fiction project planned.

If you back a physical tier from J.S. and me, you get a bonus reward you can’t get anywhere else.

To access these rewards and more…

Followers, you have access to the secret tiers, so keep on reading!

Before the war, they were undoubtedly one of the most, if not the most powerful contigent in the world. But then they retreated into Underhill, leaving the Nightdwellers and shifters alone to face the threat of extinction.

Only a few, namely fairies (the Irish sort), brownies and a few odd others chose to remain behind with their darker cousins, the Nightdwelling Fae.

The Fae abandoned mankind. They remained hidden in Underhill and didn't emerge until several decades later.  Even then, it was for reasons of their own.

It was the Nightdwellers who stayed to fight. For some, like the incubus and vampires, they understood enslavement, having been enslaved by the Fae at various points throughout time.

For others, like the banshee and selkie, they'd long been viewed as lesser by their Fae cousins. Much as the Fae looked down on humans, they'd looked down on banshees, selkie and others. Over time, these people felt more kinship with humans than with their true cousins.

Although I don't talk about the Nightdwelling Fae in book 1 much, one features somewhat prominently in book 2 and there's an incubus I hope to introduce in a later book.

I've done a lot of research on old mythologies, from various Fae-like creatures of the world to the oldest mermaid legends...to vampires.

Do you know where one of the oldest vampire-like creatures originated from?

It seems the general consensus is that you guys would prefer a character interview...?

So that is what we'll be doing.

Look for it in a few days.

In the meantime...

Look at how cute these are!

Some of the resin bookmarks I'll be including in the book boxes! These are made by hand so they vary from one to another and you don't know which one you'll get but they're all gorgeous.

And yes, I made a terrible pun. I couldn't help it.

Now...let's play some trivia.

We haven't even hit launch date yet and we're almost to 100 followers on the project! I'm excited.

So...let's do something fun (but easy, because guys, August is killing me and September won't be much better).

Once we hit 100 project followers, I'll give you guys a reward.

And you get to choose.

What should we do?

Do you wanna know my manic, mad writing music? My sexy-vibes writing music? My driving-down-the-highway-and-thinking music?

Would you rather have a character interview? My characters are as weird as I am, so that could be...interesting.

Or would you rather have a good, old-fashioned excerpt from the as-yet-unpublished third book in the series?

Answer in yonder poll and let me know!

Just a reminder:

If you're following the project!

Visit the launch party page - you can download book 1 for free.
Follow my collab partner, J.S. Living for a chance to get a unique bookmark from both of us.

Some incentives are time-sensitive, including early bird rewards!

Oooohhhh...just an FYI, I found out the secret for launching a day or two early, so if you want to grab the discounted tiers, make sure you're following me, because that info will only go out to people following the project!

If you're not following...and want to join in, make sure to click the Follow the Campaign doodad below, because that will help push us over the edge!
